What we check, what we will not say about you, and what we never hold

A compliance answer is a statement about a real vehicle and a real person. This page says what we check, what we will not claim, and what we never touch.

Three answers, and only three

Clear — the authority’s record says this document is valid today. You can pass a checkpoint on it now.

Not Clear — the authority’s record says this document has lapsed. This is the one to fix.

Unverified — we have not been able to confirm this document. It does not mean you are non-compliant. It means we do not know, and we would rather say so.

We will never show Not Clear for a document we have not actually checked. If we have not asked the authority, or the answer we hold is too old to stand behind, you get Unverified and the date we last confirmed it — not a verdict.

Where the answer comes from

From the authorities themselves — the state vehicle licensing systems, the national insurance database, and the roadworthiness and proof-of-ownership registers. We show you what the register says, along with when we last confirmed it.

We are not the authority. If our answer disagrees with your paperwork, the authority’s record is what governs — and we want to hear about it, because a disagreement usually means a record needs fixing.

What a check does not reveal

A check returns compliance status and vehicle details. It does not return the owner’s name, phone number, address or any identity document. Those are not part of the answer, to anyone, at any price.

You get one vehicle at a time. There is no way to list, export or bulk-download registrations — not as a feature, and not as a side effect. A tool for looking up your own vehicle should not become a tool for profiling somebody else’s.

Money

We never hold your money. When you renew, payment goes through a licensed payment provider directly to the authority and the insurer. We are not a bank and do not intend to become one — we arrange the renewal, we do not sit between you and your funds.

If we are wrong about your vehicle

Tell us, with the plate and what you believe is correct. Two things then happen: we re-check the record with the authority, and if the error is ours we fix it.

You can also ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop — under the Nigeria Data Protection Act. Those are your rights, not a courtesy.

What we are still building

Coverage is not uniform. Some states and document types we can confirm quickly; others we cannot yet confirm at all — and where that is true you will see Unverified rather than a guess. We would rather show an honest gap than a confident answer we cannot stand behind.
